Arts Concert – Lilly Vadaneaux and Luca Zucchi
The arts section is delighted to welcome Lilly Vadaneaux of the Royal College of Music and Luca Zucchi of the Royal Academy of Music and Clare College, Cambridge on
Thursday 22nd May
6.30pm – 7.30pm
The programme will open with a Schubert sonata from Lilly who will then be joined by baritone Luca Zucchi for Vaughan Williams’ Songs of Travel.
Both musicians graduated in music from Clare College, Cambridge last year, and have already received an impressive number of awards for performance and composition. Lilly has been commissioned to write new works for the West Wicklow Festival, Opera Cameratina Festival and Electric Voice Theatre. Luca is presently studying for a Master’s in composition at the Royal Academy of Music. Both have initiated projects: Lilly sings with the Bruegel Consort, a five-part early music vocal ensemble she founded in 2023, which has performed at the Utrecht Early Music Festival Fringe and was selected for the Stile Antico Ensemble Development Scheme 2024-26, and in 2023 Luca started Isokon Ensemble, a group aimed at interdisciplinary approaches to musical performance and committed to commissioning works by up-and-coming composers. Over the last two years, the ensemble has raised over £6,000 for refugee charities The Welcoming and Student Action for Refugees. Most recently, Luca led the ensemble in a new staged adaptation of Schubert’s ‘Winterreise’ and Beckett’s short play ‘That Time’ at London’s Pentameters Theatre.
