DESCRIPTION:\nJoin us on the evening of Thursday 8th June as we welcome pia
 nist Matthew McLachlan for a piano recital.\nThe programme for the evening
  will be:\nFirst half\nBrahms – Sonata no. 1\nSecond half\nDe Larrocha 
 – Invitación\nChopin – Waltz in A minor\, op.34 no.2\nShchedrin – P
 relude and Fugue\, no.3\nStravinsky - 3 movements from petrushka\nChetham
 ’s School of Music alumnus Matthew McLachlan was awarded the C. Bechstei
 n scholarship to continue his studies at the Royal College of Music. Matth
 ew has performed as concerto soloist and recitalist in Poland\, Serbia\, I
 taly\, Lanzarote and throughout the UK. In July 2021 Matthew was awarded 1
 st prize in the Royal College of Music Chappell Medal piano competition an
 d the Esther Fisher prize for best undergraduate performance. He recently 
 performed Rachmaninoff piano concerto no.3 with the Alderly Edge Symphony 
 in Manchester and has been traveling Europe with the Young Musicians’ Gu
 ild\, performing solo and chamber recitals. In January 2023 Matthew was of
 fered a full scholarship for a masters in performance at the Royal College
  of Music starting in September.\nMembers may book up to five guests.
