 re we will be discussing France on Trial by Julian Jackson\nA compelling e
 xamination of one of France's most controversial historical figures\, Mars
 hal Philippe Pétain\, and his trial for treason after World War II. Jacks
 on\, a respected historian of 20th-century France\, delves into the comple
 x legacy of Pétain\, who led Vichy France in collaboration with Nazi Germ
 any during the occupation. Known as a hero from World War I\, Pétain’s 
 role in the government that collaborated with Nazi forces during World War
  II led to a stunning fall from grace and a divisive postwar trial that ca
 ptivated and divided France.\nThe meetings start at 6pm\, and members and 
 their guests can either join in person or online via Zoom.\nFor those join
