DESCRIPTION:\nOur next meeting will take place on Tuesday 9 July\, where we
  will be discussing Killing Thatcher by Rory Carroll.\nIn this fascinating
  and compelling book\, veteran journalist Rory Carroll retraces the road t
 o the infamous Brighton bombing in 1984 – an incident that shaped the po
 litical landscape in the UK for decades to come. He begins with the infamo
 us execution of Lord Mountbatten in 1979 – for which the IRA took full r
 esponsibility – before tracing the rise of Margaret Thatcher\, her respo
 nse to the ‘Troubles’ in Ireland and the chain of events that culminat
 ed in the hunger strikes of 1981 and the death of 10 republican prisoners\
 , including Bobby Sands. From that moment on Thatcher became an enemy of t
 he IRA – and the organisation swore revenge.\nThe meetings start at 6pm\
 , and members and their guests can either join in person or online via Zoo
