In March 2020, Emmanuel Delescot, co-owner with his brother Philippe of Champagne Edouard Brun, the producer of the East India Club Champagne, was scheduled to come along and present his wines to mark a quarter of a century of relationship with the Club. Unfortunately, the pandemic stood in the way of the celebration.

Emmanuel Delescot will introduce members to his grand and premier Cru wines. Is there any better way to toast a delayed anniversary?

A lucky group of members got to visit the family business during a wine tour of the Champagne region back in May 2019. Getting to know every aspect of the house’s operation, down to the labelling line and the loading area whence our Club Champagne is shipped to our cellars, made it a highlight of the trip.

Champagne Edouard Brun was established in 1898 in Aÿ, right at the heart of the prestigious appellation. It is in 1927 that Edmond Lefevre, of whom Emmanuel and Philippe are direct descendants, became Edouard Brun’s business partner and brought his winemaking expertise to the Champagne house. In the scheme of things, Champagne Edouard Brun is only small, but they handcraft their wines according to the most traditional methods from quality grapes grown with the greatest of care. The East India Club Champagne has been a source of pride for 28 years now and Emmanuel Delescot’s selection will only reinforce the opinion that the Club delivers one of the finest ranges of club wines in clubland. Come and raise a glass.
