History and Military History Section Talk – Edward Hilary Davis

Fellow member Edward Hilary Davis has recently published a book on Napoleon III, and the wider family and will be giving a talk on the scandalous family and their time in London.

Napoleon III lived around the corner from the club and was often in the neighbourhood during his various periods of exile, as were many members of his family. He even fought a dual on Wimbledon common and nearly drowned Benjamin Disraeli in the Serpentine.

The event will start at 7pm and is priced at £22pp and includes wine, sandwiches, and the chance to get to know fellow section members. Dress code for the evening is Lounge suits and members may bring a guest.
