Jazz at No 16 – Nigel Grice Collective
An evening of Jazz with
Nigel Grice Collective
Nigel has been playing baritone sax since the age of 14 and spent many years in the South London Jazz Orchestra, being its chair for 5 years. He set up his own group in 2015, which has gradually morphed into the Nigel Grice Jazz Collective.
The Collective is a broad group of London jazz musicians, professional and semi-professional, who put together bands tailored to particular gigs. Their set for the East India Club will be jazz standards – some bebop, some hard bop, some cool West Coast, and maybe some Jazz Funk. The September line up will be:
Nigel Grice – saxophone and flute
Alyson Cawley – saxophone
Jim Howard – trumpet and flugelhorn
George Bone – keys
Alexander Rawlinson – bass
Tom Clarke – drums
The Collective aim to appeal to the jazz aficionado as well as the more general listener, with lots of audience interaction and the odd appalling joke…
Members can book up to 5 guests and the ticket price includes supper with wine.
