The history section welcomes Dr Mary Hollingsworth, who will be discussing her most recent book Princes of the Renaissance, a vivid depiction of the lives and times of the élite whose power and patronage created the art and architecture of the Renaissance.

Mary Hollingsworth is a British author who has published widely on Renaissance Europe and particularly Italy, dealing with topics from art to everyday life and the politics of the great Renaissance families such as the Medici, Borgias, and D’Estes.  She has published widely on all these topics in academic journals and was one of the senior academics on the Material Renaissance Project, a collaborative venture funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Board and the Getty Grant Program
