Members and daughters
This annual black tie event at the clubhouse gives members the chance to come together for an evening of fine dining, accompanied by their daughters. This year’s speaker is the deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service, Dame Lynne Owens.
Beginning her career in law enforcement in 1989 as a constable based in Catford, Dame Lynne has risen through the ranks of the force, holding positions as divisional commander of North Surrey Police, assistant commissioner of the Metropolitan Police (the second woman to hold that rank), and head of the specialist crime and operations directorate. During this time Dame Lynne was overall commander of the policing for the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, and the state visit by US president Barack Obama in 2011. Later she was appointed chief constable of Surrey Police, (the first woman to head the force), and subsequently served as head of the National Crime Agency, which made her the most senior woman in British law enforcement at the time.
The evening begins with a reception in the Smoking Room followed by a three-course-dinner with wine.
Tickets are priced at £80pp and include a commemorative photograph of the evening. Members may book up to five guests.
