Last December, as the UK was  about to go back into lockdown, Jamie Churchill Graham of the family-run company Churchill’s Port cheered us up with an online tasting of three key styles of port selected from their award-winning portfolio : white Port, Ruby Port and Tawny Port.

Jamie returns, this time in person to take members through the company’s portfolio, with particular attention to Vintage Port. Hopefully, Johnny will also speak on the night. If he is unable to make it, the company’s head winemaker Ricardo Pinto Nunes may come over to share his expertise instead.

Churchills was founded in 1981 by Jamie’s dad Johnny, and although a fairly new company Churchill’s Port has its roots deeply embedded into quality Port history. Indeed, Johnny Graham’s family used to own the famous Graham’s Port until it was sold in 1970. Johnny and his wife Caroline (maiden name Churchill) created Churchill’s when Johnny left the winemaking team at Taylor’s, having also worked at Cockburns previously. The wonderful and unique handcrafted style of Churchill’s Port draws on the traditional methods used by all those top houses of the Douro Valley.

Members can bring one guest and ticket price includes sandwiches, members are asked to book the dining room for dinner reservations in the normal way.
