The Young members committee are pleased to welcome guest speaker

Steve Pateman

the inspiration for the movie and Westend show Kinky Boots

to the young members dinner on Tuesday 16 April.

As a young man at Wellingborough school Steve was a keen rugby player, but the moment he finished aged 17 he followed in the family footsteps and joined the 4th generation shoe factory.

Over the next 14 years he learned everything about the industry and rose to managing director, but in 1993 demand began to slip and Steve did whatever it took to save the family’s shoe business and the jobs of his 70 staff.

Along the path he had to learn to walk in high heels, shave his legs and created the Kinky Boot Factory which featured on the BBC 2 documentary “Trouble at the top” and inspired Hollywood, Broadway and the Westend to tell his story.

This is a chance for the club’s young members to gather together for a great value three course dinner with wine.

Members and up to 3 prospective (gentlemen) member guests aged 18-34.

6.45pm for 7.30pm
